Happiness is something you choose!
In October 2011 I made a choice. After years of living like a ghost, I was done with it; no more searching for that man, I didn’t require that diploma, nor did I need the wealth in my bank account! I let it all go.
My focus was no longer on
everything that was ‘wrong’ in my life.
I had done that for years,
and it had brought me nothing.
So I put together a plan: In a year I would be able to look at myself happily in the mirror and know what happiness is. That was a moment of acceptance!
Immediately my life started to change drastically. The airline I flew for went bankrupt, so in the field of work I was immediately forced to change and because I let go of certain expectations, I also met the love of my life one month later.
Call it spiritual or whatever, but I have experienced the power of acceptance.
And as ‘a course in miracles’ reminds us; Happiness is always here. You can just choose it, when you accept what has happened to you and what you’ve become, because the present moment is the best place to change your future.
