Me-time Moments Inspiration During Coronavirus Lockdown
This is a hysterical period with uncertain times. We experience anxiety, opinions, judgment, and this all is creating energy that activates the sympathetic nervous system. When this is always active it interferes with your health.
It is crucial to balance this activity with the parasympathetic nervous system.
And that’s why you need a daily me-time moment. It will recover YOU. A daily me-time moment will restore your nervous system, your immune system, and you’ll feel stronger and mentally stable.
For the next three weeks I’m going to inspire you with lot’s of ways to fill in your me-time moment. For example you can do this with body movement, meditation, breathing exercises and more…
Today I am inspiring you with a breathing exercise or as we in yoga language call pranayama.
Today’s Me-time Moment
Alternate Nostril Breathing Exercise or Nadi Shodhana
Benefits of this me-time moment practice:
In addition to opening the flow of energy along the nadis (energy streams), this practice calms, purifies, and strengthens the nervous system and deepens self-awareness.
Superperson
There are two energies Yin & Yang (passive & active). When these energies are in balance, you are physical, mentally & emotionally the strongest.
How does it work?
From the base of the spine these two energies swirl up around the spine. Each energy is connected to a nostril.
- The passive energy (Ida) is connected to the left nostril and therefore calms or activates the right side of the brain.
- The active energy (Pingala) is connected to the right nostril and therefore purifies the left side of the brain.
- By breathing through one nostril at a time you create a flow of energy and it restores & purifies. The active calms down, the sluggish becomes active.
This breathing exercise, Nadi Shodhana: Breathing Exercise For Balance & Purification, provides balance.
Hope that Nadi Shodhana: Breathing Exercise For Balance & Purification, inspires you to do your me-time moment today.
I wish you an amazing day, Be safe & (re)act with love
